SubLay C

Form 1 ready to pilot

Protect buried concrete without changing the mix.

SubLay C turns ordinary backfill into a mineral corrosion shield around buried reinforced concrete, without changing the mix design.

Why SubLay C

Durability that fits how you already build.

SubLay C Form 1 is the product you place this season: engineered protective backfill around the buried sides and base of reinforced concrete. Forms 2 and 3 extend the same material system later.

Other products protect the steel, the concrete mix, or the concrete surface. SubLay C treats the soil that attacks them.

No mix-design change

Keep your concrete recipe and structural design. SubLay C works in the soil contact zone around the asset.

Fits a normal foundation day

Place, compact, and backfill with clear thickness and QC guidance your contractors can follow.

Built for aggressive ground

Designed for the chloride, sulfate, and moisture exposure that eats ordinary backfill, including acidic sulfate-bearing coastal ground and salt-loaded roadside soils.

Pilot with a monitoring plan

Start with a pilot pack: material, application guidance, and a practical monitoring plan.

How it works

Place a mineral shield. Keep your mix design.

Place SubLay C Form 1 around the sides and base of poles, foundations, and other buried elements. Ordinary soil stays outside that protective bed.

Cross-section: SubLay C sits around the buried part of the concrete structure so it does not sit directly in regular soil.

  1. 01

    Prepare the contact zone

Clear and prepare the contact zone around the buried part of the concrete structure.

  2. 02

    Place SubLay C Form 1

Place SubLay C around the sides and base of the submerged structure at the agreed thickness.

  3. 03

    Compact

Compact to the civil specification agreed with your team.

  4. 04

    Backfill remaining zones

Fill the rest of the trench with regular soil around the SubLay C bed.

  5. 05

    Monitor on pilots

On pilots, install monitoring points and record lot ID, thickness, and date.

Delivery forms

Form 1 now. Forms 2 and 3 later.

Available to pilot

SubLay C Form 1: engineered protective backfill

Loose mineral bedding for poles, foundations, and other buried elements. Replace ion-contaminated soil next to the structure.

Coming later

SubLay C Form 2: precast biscuit / mosaic tiles

Precast tiles from the same material system. Coming after Form 1 supply is established.

Coming later

SubLay C Form 3: concrete cast from the produced soil

Cast use of the material system for flexible applications. On the later roadmap.

What is in Form 1

  • Mineral / silica-based matrix
  • Corrosion inhibitor and hydrophobic agents
  • Industrial side streams when regulation allows
  • Virgin-mineral grade for early Finnish pilots
  • Placement guidance and QC with every delivery

How we supply

  • Controlled blending and delivery for Finnish pilot sites
  • Virgin-mineral grade available for early placements
  • Circular feedstocks when Finnish rules allow

Who it is for

Asset owners and the contractors who place for them.

Electricity network owners

Protect pole foundations, substation foundations, and cable chambers without redesigning concrete.

Civil contractors

Add a clear protective layer to foundation work with thickness, compaction, and QC you can run on site.

Road and bridge teams

A second path for salt-exposed substructures after lab proof and site fit are confirmed.

Validation

Ready where it counts.

Here is where SubLay C stands today, and what we are building next for Finnish and EU buyers.

  • SubLay C Form 1 product and placement method

Clear placement around the buried structure. No change to the concrete mix design.

    Ready
  • Technical and economic feasibility

    Ready
  • Industry partnerships for materials and placement

    Ready
  • Field pilot on buried electricity foundations

Hands-on placement experience informing Finnish network pilots.

    Ready
  • Independent EU laboratory programme

Scoping a third-party test programme with an accredited Finnish laboratory. Results published when they exist.

    Being scoped
  • Finnish utility and contractor pilots

Taking requests for pole foundations, substations, and chambers.

    Open for partners
  • Construction-product conformity path

Mapping the CE conformity route for the material. Milestones published as they land.

    On the roadmap
  • Circular feedstock qualification

Early pilots can run on a virgin-mineral grade.
