About
SubLay is a materials company working on one neglected problem: the ground that buried concrete has to live in. Our first product, SubLay C, is a mineral additive blended into ordinary backfill so the soil around a foundation stops accelerating corrosion.
Most durability work happens inside the concrete: richer mixes, thicker cover, coatings, better rebar. All of it is priced into the structure and reviewed with it. The soil sitting against that structure is usually whatever was dug out of the trench. We work on that layer instead, which leaves the mix design and the structural approvals alone.
Aggressive coastal ground, sulfate-bearing and acidic soils, and de-icing salt exposure are where the cost of early repair is highest and where an owner will pay to avoid a second excavation. That is the ground we design for and the ground we want to pilot on.
SubLay C has laboratory and prior field work behind it. It does not yet have an independent EU laboratory programme or construction-product certification, and we do not describe those as finished. The validation table on the product page tracks the real status of each item.
SubLay is built by materials and civil engineers who have spent their careers on corrosion, foundations, and buried infrastructure. That is the whole reason we start in the soil rather than in the concrete.
