About
SubLay is a materials company working on one neglected problem: the ground that buried concrete has to live in. Our first product, SubLay C, is a mineral additive blended into ordinary backfill so the soil around a foundation stops accelerating corrosion.
We are not asking owners to bet on a mystery additive. The idea is to change the contact zone around the structure while the concrete recipe and structural design stay as specified.
Most durability work happens inside the concrete: richer mixes, thicker cover, coatings, better rebar. All of it is priced into the structure and reviewed with it. The soil sitting against that structure is usually whatever was dug out of the trench. We work on that layer instead, which leaves the mix design and the structural approvals alone.
Aggressive coastal ground, sulfate-bearing and acidic soils, and de-icing salt exposure are where the cost of early repair is highest and where an owner will pay to avoid a second excavation. That is the ground SubLay C is built for.
We publish the status of every evidence item instead of a headline number: what is ready, what is running, and what is still planned. Independent EU laboratory results and construction-product conformity are both in progress. See the current status of each item on the SubLay C product page.
Year 1 focus is Finnish buried infrastructure: electricity networks, transport structures, municipal assets, and the contractors who place foundations in aggressive ground. We also talk with owners and designers elsewhere in the Nordics when the soil case is similar.
